My name is Don Goss, and my life’s work sits at the intersection of service, craftsmanship, and community. I am a dedicated Freemason, an IT professional, a writer, and a lifelong student of history and tradition. Whether I’m serving in the Lodge, building systems that help people work smarter, or preserving family recipes for the next generation, I approach every project with purpose and curiosity.
I use the name “RaptorTek” online as a nod to the first firewall I ever worked on: the Velociraptor by Raptor Technologies. That early experience shaped my approach to IT — fast, sharp, and built for protection. The name stuck with me, becoming a personal brand that reflects both my technical roots and the sense of agility and vigilance that good cybersecurity demands. Over time, RaptorTek has become more than a handle; it’s a reminder of where my journey in technology began and the mindset I bring to every project.
Freemasonry has shaped much of my journey. Through the Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, and the Grotto, I’ve had the privilege to serve, lead, and learn alongside Brothers who continually inspire me. My Masonic résumé reflects years of steady involvement, but more importantly, it reflects a commitment to the values that define our Craft: integrity, charity, leadership, and the pursuit of light.
Outside the Lodge, I work in the world of information technology, where I enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and helping organizations operate with clarity and efficiency. I’ve always believed that good systems — whether digital or organizational — make good work possible.
Writing is another part of my life that brings me joy. I author Masonic articles, educational pieces, and reflections on leadership and symbolism. I also channel my love of heritage and hospitality into a personal cookbook project that celebrates Southern flavor, family stories, and the simple act of gathering around a table.
This website brings all of these threads together. It’s a place to share my Masonic work, my writing, my projects, and the experiences that continue to shape who I am. If you’re a Brother seeking insight, a reader exploring my work, or someone who simply enjoys good food and good stories, I’m glad you’re here.
